Trail Attributes

Trail Distance: 141km

Route mostly follows quieter rural roads with some residential and main roads in Goderich. Heading north of Goderich the route crosses the Menesetung Bridge and can follow (you have a choice of routes) part of the Goderich to Guelph Rail Trail to Lucknow Line.

Trail Tips:

  • A gap exists south of the Bayfield River through the Municipality of Bluewater. Proposed routing is indicated on the map based on locally promoted cycling routes, however note that this gap also includes 12km on Highway 21 between St. Joseph and Grand Bend. Highway 21 is a provincial highway with a posted speed limit of 80km/h with significant traffic, including consistent truck traffic and is seasonally very busy.
  • Lucknow Line is a regional road with a posted speed limit of 90km/h with soft shoulders and truck traffic. Note that with soft shoulders there can be a drop from the paved road to the unpaved shoulder. Use caution.
  • Goderich is an excellent hub for trails and trips, with great restaurants, amazing views of Lake Huron and a kilometre-long beach.
