Windsor Ontario boasts a spectacular off-road Waterfront Trail that passes by the downtown centre, through several parks, under the international Ambassador Bridge, and through the Odette Sculpture Park. It is co-designated as the Riverfront Trail and Ganatchio Trail.
As you enter Windsor from the East, keep an eye out for the off-road path on the south side of Riverside Drive. The off-road path continues until just west of Lauzon, where the Waterfront Trail is shared with traffic on Riverside Drive. The off-road trail resumes just east of the Canadian Club Brand Centre and the historic Walkerville neighborhood. In total the Windsor Waterfront Trail is approximately 25km, 15 km is off road.
The downtown Waterfront Trail passes through the Festival Plaza where there are annual fireworks for Canada Day and several other festivals each year. As you head south through Windsor, you will have to pay close attention passing through Malden Park as there are several side paths that will tempt you to go astray.
