Iron Bridge (Huron Shores)

You are here: Home / Community Profiles / Communities / Iron Bridge (Huron Shores)

Known as the gateway to the Mississagi River Valley, the Municipality of Huron Shores provides a tranquil ride along quiet Northern roads and pleasantly rolling hills and farmlands where lucky passersby may spot a fox or black bear in nearby fields. As one nears the Mississagi River, the land becomes more lively, dotted with nearby lakes on whose shores rest a scattering of campgrounds and resorts that provide a haven with a lot to offer any nature, fishing, hunting or powersports enthusiast.

Huron Shores includes the communities of Little Rapids, Sowerby, Dayton, Iron Bridge, Dean Lake and other historical hamlets, many of which are found directly along the Lake Huron North Channel route. The Municipality’s civic centre is Iron Bridge, a full service community with great places to stay, restaurants, a museum and other amenities.

Visitors to Iron Bridge can connect directly to the Voyageur Hiking Trail for a short hike or a longer sojourn, or visit the Veteran’s Bridge and quietly watch the Mississagi River roll by.
