Thessalon

You are here: Home / Community Profiles / Communities / Thessalon

Situated along the shores of Lake Huron at the mouth of the beautiful Thessalon River, the town of Thessalon has its origins set in the burgeoning lumber industry of the 1890s. While that historic connection remains, with two beaches, accommodations that include a campground with a lake view, excellent cafés and restaurants, shops, groceries, a thriving local arts and artisan community, wifi at the local library, a full-service marina complete with amenities that include bicycles to explore town, and 8km of cross-country ski trails for cold weather aficionados, Thessalon has become an exceptional base for outdoor enthusiasts of all kinds.

Whether you want to paddle the Thessalon, kayak or sail the clear waters of Lake Huron, set off to hike the nearby Voyageur Trail, enjoy a great fishing experience or simply continue your scenic ride along the North Channel, you’ll find a lot to enjoy in Thessalon.
