Waterfront Regeneration Trust receives Grant from Ontario Trillium Foundation

The Waterfront Regeneration Trust is the grateful recipient of a grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation’s Resilient Communities Fund. The grant has supported important work to evaluate, diversify and strengthen our fundraising capacity and communicate our impact.

Over the past few weeks, we have met with many of the donors and champions who have supported the legacy of the Great Lakes Waterfront Trail. The conversations were inspiring and powerful–stories of how the Trail contributes to their visions for a better world.

All of this was possible thanks to the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF), which is an agency of the Government of Ontario and one of Canada’s leading granting foundations building healthy and vibrant communities and strengthening the impact of Ontario’s non-profit sector.

The Foundation has been a significant partner to the Trust at important organizational milestones. It supported the development of the Trust’s annual cycle awareness tour, the Great Waterfront Trail Adventure, now celebrating its 15th Anniversary. In 2014, the Foundation supported a comprehensive partner-wide strategic planning process that confirmed our community partners’ commitment to creating a Trail for the entire shores of Canada’s Great Lakes and Ontario’s St. Lawrence River.

Our thanks to our donors and our community, foundation, and corporate partners for their support over 30 years to realize the vision of the Great Lakes Waterfront Trail.
