A small section of the Great Lakes Waterfront Trail at Port Union Waterfront Park may have minor detours while shoreline maintenance is ongoing from April to December 2026.
From April to December 2026, a major shoreline maintenance project will be ongoing at Port Union Waterfront Park, providing erosion protection for park infrastructure.
The week of April 6, 2026 the Park and shoreline areas south of the Waterfront Trail will be closed during construction as heavy equipment and site facilities are delivered.
The Great Lakes Waterfront Trail will remain open during construction. Trail users may experience minor delays during work hours when flag persons escort equipment to work areas. Flag personnel will be present during trail crossings.
