You are here: Home / Community Profiles / Communities / Gananoque

In the heart of the 1000 Islands, Gananoque is recognized as one of Eastern Ontario’s most stunning waterfront communities. With fabulous accommodation choices and loads to do, it is one of the Trail’s great overnight or staging destinations.

This rural region covers a variety of unique attractions, including a scenic cycling path along Thousand Island Parkway, a captivating waterfront trail, beautiful beaches, a highly rated Heritage Museum, an OLG Casino, outstanding performances at the Thousand Islands Playhouse and one of the most prominent golf courses in Ontario, Smuggler’s Glen.

Joel Stone Heritage Park features a beach and splash pad. It is located near Thousand Islands Kayaking where you can rent kayak or book a guided tour of the St. Lawrence River.

Gananoque is part of the Frontenac Arch Biosphere Reserve, now one of Canada’s UNESCO biospheres!
