This rural region covers a variety of unique attractions, including a scenic cycling path along Thousand Island Parkway, a captivating waterfront trail, beautiful beaches, a highly rated Heritage Museum, an OLG Casino, outstanding performances at the Thousand Islands Playhouse and one of the most prominent golf courses in Ontario, Smuggler’s Glen.
Joel Stone Heritage Park features a beach and splash pad. It is located near Thousand Islands Kayaking where you can rent kayak or book a guided tour of the St. Lawrence River.
Gananoque is part of the Frontenac Arch Biosphere Reserve, now one of Canada’s UNESCO biospheres!

Asphalt surface, usually on residential roads
Short stretch follows King Street—a busy downtown road with parking on both sides and number of shops and restaurants.
- Hiking opportunities on the Gananoque Trail system – 12 km perimeter (3 loops).
- Village of Rockport of the Township of Leeds and Thousand Islands is 21 km east of the Gananoque on the south side of the Trail. Makes a nice stop for lunch before returning to Gananoque or continuing to Brockville.
