Orillia

You are here: Home / Community Profiles / Communities / Orillia

Where Lake Simcoe and Lake Couchiching meet you’ll find the City of Orillia. This thriving urban centre is the perfect gateway to your trip on the Great Lakes Waterfront Trail into nearby Severn Township, Simcoe County and further north to the Muskokas. Orillia has scads of waterfront, including beaches, parks, heritage sites and marinas. Beyond the Trail, scenic paths follow the waterfront itself. You’ll never be far from that light dancing on the water.

You’ll find all the amenities you need, and many you didn’t realize you wanted—how about a Texas sized Donut or a world famous butter tart!?—in town, from multiple accommodations, tons of restaurants, bakeries and parks and facilities ranging from watersports to hiking. The City is a hub of trails, with connections to the Ganaraska Hiking Trail and the Great Trail heading east and north and the Simcoe County Loop Trail with its popular connection to nearby Barrie.

A haven of urban comforts nested in idyllic countryside, Orillia is a great destination and an ideal gateway onto the Great Lakes Waterfront Trail.
