Located on the shores of beautiful Lake Huron, Spanish is a famous haven for boaters, known for its world-class Four Seasons Marina and Waterfront Complex and reputed to have some of the best sailing opportunities in the world. For those travelling the North Channel, Spanish offers an ideal overnight stop, with full service restaurants, three campgrounds and a motel, this gem along the water is, as you can well imagine, a mecca for anglers. Three area lodges offer a unique opportunity to relax for a day or two or three, casting in some of the finest fishing areas in the province.

Located directly on the Trail, you’ll find a trip to the marina well worth it. Long-distance travellers are sure to appreciate the marina’s hospitality, offering several amenities including laundry and shower facilities to the weary cyclist.
Meanwhile, climb the stairway at top of rocky bluffs where you’ll to experience a 360° vista overlooking the Spanish River Delta, Sagamok Anishnawbek, Whalesback Channel, and of course the Town of Spanish, from a pretty red-roofed gazebo. There you can continue begin your hike along the Shoreline Discovery Trail, a rugged 2.5 km ramble that offers more exceptional views before you continue on your journey.

Travellers to the area in early August should be sure to mark Rock and Roar on their calendars, an annual two-day music festival held at the marina complex, that will be sure to put a cap on your trip.
